Harm Modder, 62, a resident of George, Lyon county, Iowa, since early childhood passed away of Wednesday, January 25, 1961 at the Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital at Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa, after a short illness. Funeral services were held from the Modder home and from the Ebenezer Presbyterian church in George on January 28 with interment in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery near George.

The deceased was born on September 3, 1898 in the Netherlands to Lammert and Anna Modder. When he was three years of age, his parents moved to America and he, along with his older sister, Anna, accompanied them.

Harm Modder and Mary Julius were united in marriage on January 6, 1921. to this union two sons were born, Lambert, of Sheldon, Obrien county, Iowa and Henry, of George. The Modders farmed west of George until 1950 when they moved to George.

The deceased was preceded in death by his father, Lammert Modder, and one sister, Anna, Mrs. Cornelius Schol. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Lammert Modder, his wife, Mary, two sons, Lambert and Henry along with three grandchildren and one brother, George.
