Pete was born to Conrad Eugene and Florence E. (Linnemann) Yount. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Eilts). They were married on Sept. 24, 1955, in Benson, Ill.

Also surviving are his children, Susan (Gary) Lock, Russ (Jayne) Yount, Joe (Juana) Yount, Valerie (Richard) Smith and Betty (Andy) Hicks; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother; and one sister.

He was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters and two grandchildren.

He retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 30 years of service.

He served in the United States Air Force.

BENSON – Clement "Pete" Yount, 83, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Blake Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla.
He was born Sept. 24, 1930, in Benson, the son of Conard and Florence Linnemann Yount. He married Mary Ann Elits on Sept. 24, 1955, in Benson. She survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Susan (Gary) Lock, Valerie (Richard) Smith and Betty (Andy) Hicks; two sons, Russ (Jayne) Yount and Joe (Juana) Yount; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren one brother; and one sister.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters and two grandchildren.

Pete served in the Air Force. He worked with Caterpillar for over 30 years before he retired. Pete was a member of Benson American Post No. 454, Knights of Columbus and served on the Benson Fire Department for many years.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Benson."
