Mary Ann Yount, 82, of Peoria, formerly of Benson, passed away at 11:30 a.m.March 30th at Roanoke Apostolic Christian Home.

She was born November 30, 1934, in Benson, daughter of Edward and Pearl Eilts. She married Clement Yount on September 24, 1955 in Benson. He preceded her in death on Feb, 15, 2014.

Survivors include two sons, Russell (Jayne) Yount of Benson, Joe (Juana) Yount of Bradenton, FL; three daughters, Susan (Gary) Lock of Kewanee, Valerie (Richard) Smith of Minonk, Betty (Andrew) Hicks of Fort Mill, SC.; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She worked as a secretary at State Farm in Bloomington, IL. She quit to raise her family of five children. When her youngest started school she went to work as a waitress at Bechtel's Family Dining in Roanoke. When her husband Pete retired they purchased and ran Mary's Cash and Carry in Benson. They retired and moved to Bradenton, Fl. She moved to Courtyard Estates in Peoria, IL in July of 2015.

She enjoyed visiting with her family and staying in touch with her extended family and friends on Facebook. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles.

Funeral: Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St John's Catholic Church in Benson, with visitation half hour before services.

Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke
