Linda M. Kirkton, 51, of Gridley, died at 7:05 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2002, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

She was born May 31, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas to Myrle and Iola Coyle Yount. She married Brent Kirkton on Oct. 23, 1971 in El Paso. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Jeff; one daughter, Mindy Kirkton; four sisters, Monette Alvarez, Pat Trambley, Theresa Supan and Starr Schalk and one brother, Mike Yount.

Her parents preceded her in death.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in El Paso and was active in Cursillo in Christianity.

She was a charter member of Gridley Emergency Squad.

She helped begin the Breakfast with Santa and the Gridley citywide garage sales.
