'Obituaries Jerry Lee Avery, 70

Funeral services for Jerry Lee Avery, 70, of Lake Mills were held Friday, February 7 at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Kevin Mackey officiated. Interment will take place at a later date in Wisconsin. Jerrypassed away Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City. Mittlestadt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Jery Lee Avery, son of Kermith and Esther (Heitland) Alvery, was born in Thompson on August 28, 1932. He attended Thompson High School. Following graduation, he served his country in the USAF in Korea. On November 26, 1963 he wasunited in marriage to Janice Olson. To this union two children were born: Michael Todd and Mark Alan. On October 15, 1983 he was united in marriage to Norma Hermanson of Lake Mills, where they lived until the time of his death.

Jerry worked in various management jobs in Wisconsin and Michigan. After his marriage to Norma, he worked at Winnebago Industries, retiring on June 2, 1995. He worked part-time at Don's Motor Mart the past eight years until two monthsbefore his death.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Norma; a son, Michael, and his wife Tracy, of Barneveld, Wisconsin; son, Mark and his wife, Lissa, of Madison, Wisconsin; one grandson; Donovan; three step-children: Cody, Brittany and Garrett; one sister,Karen, and her husband, Fred Suroff, of Sedalia, Missouri; their sons, Aaron and Adam; three step-children: Jim, Tom and Linda and their families; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents,Kerm and Esther Alvey; and a brother, Darrel, in infancy.' <>
