"Anna Meyer, 90

Funeral services for Anna Meyer 90, were held Tuesday, February 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Reformed church at Buffalo Center. Rev. William Peake officiated. Interment will take place at a later date at Olena Mound Cemetery at Buffalo Center. Anna passed away Friday, February 6, 2004 at the USA Healthcare Center in Mason City. Winter funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Anna (Hornak) Meyer, daughter of Paul and Lena (Ackerman) Hornak, was born December 22, 1913 in rural Bridgewater, South Dakota. She attended country school near Bridgewater.

On December 9, 1933, Anna was united in marriage with Klaas Meyer in Alexandria, South Dakota. The couple made their home on a farm in rural Buffalo Center their entire married lives. Anna was a devoted farm wife, who helped Klaas with the day-to-day chores, tended to their home and still found time for some hobbies.

Anna was always a gracious and hospitable host for her family and friends. She also enjoyed to bake, cook and crochet. In addition, she forever had beautiful flowers in her garden. She was a faithful member of the First Reformed Churchin Buffalo Center as well as a long-time neighbor to the church itself.

Anna is survived by her two sisters, Marie Stolz of Burnsville, Minnesota; Pauline Ernster and her husband, Norbert, of Salem, South Dakota; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Klaas in 1986; an infant son; three sisters: Betty Graff, Frieda Kunkel and Sanna Hornak; two brothers, Thomas and James Hornak."
