"... Paul Hornak was born 9 Nov 1873 in Vrbovce, Myjava, Slovakia. His parents are Martin Hornak and Suzanna Kozik. They were farmers. His religion is Evangelical Lutheran. He came to the USA from 1893-1903. He shows up on the 1905 SDState Census in Scotland, Bon Homme County, South Dakota. It said he had been in the US and SD for 7 years. He lived as a farmer most of his adult life in Jefferson township, McCook County, SD. His family attended the Zion EvangelicalLutheran Church in Bridgewater, also in McCook County. "... Hempeline (Lena) (Lina) Ackermann was born 1889-92 in Germany. I have not found where exactly in Germany, except for her brother Cornelius in World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918 and U.S. World War II Draft Registration Cards,1942. They said he was born in Leer, Germany. Lena died in 1957. Her burial was from the Zion Ev Lutheran Church. Lena's parents were Sandor Ackermann and Tete A. Sandor was born 1850-1 and Tete was born 1863-6. Both were born inGermany. The family immigrated to America, arriving at the port of New York on 15 Sept 1903 on the Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse. Their last residence was: "Logaerfeld, Han." (Logaerfeld is in the district of Leer, Germany.) They wereheaded to join "Joh. Luderman, Cleves, Fa., Hard Co." They attended that church in Bridgewater. The five children were born in Germany. Cornelius, b. 2 Dec 1891, was in Boston, Mass. by the 1930 Census, married to Jessie, and living ina boarding house. He died Sept 1964, and his residence was Massachusetts (SSDI). Lena and her sister Anna were twins and born about 1889-92. Anna married Karl Schulz on 21 Apr 1911 in Bridgewater (South Dakota Marriages, 1905-1949).They had six children: Robert Gustav Schulz, b. 18 Nov 1917, Martha Henrietta Schulz, b. 11 June 1919, Herbert Helmuth Schulz, b. 5 Nov 1921, Ella Emma Schulz, b. 18 Oct 1924, Ida Anna Schulz, b. 24 Feb 1926, and Herman Carl Schulz, b.25 Mar 1929. Karl Schulz was born 1882-4 in Germany. His family attended the Zion Ev Lutheran Church in Bridgewater. That's where the marriage and children's births are listed. He lived in Fairview (Post Office: Fulton), HansonCounty, SD (South Dakota States Censuses, 1915, 1925, and 1935.) Sanna and Theda were also twins and born in 1903. In 1913, Sandor took his wife and two youngest daughters back to Germany. On 20 Sept 1923, he arrived at the port of NewYork on the ship, Sierra Ventana. His residence was: "Germany, Nortmoor." His closest relative was his daughter, Sanna Kramer, living in "Nortmoor, Hann." (Nortmoor is in the district of Leer.) He was going to join his son-in-law,Karl Schulz who lived in Fulton, SD. The passenger list said he lived in America from 1903-1913. ..."
