Lewis was the first of 14 children born to Thomas and Florence Bosma. He spent his entire life in the vicinity of Buffalo Center. As a young man, he worked as a farm hand for several of the area farmers. He also worked for Carl Wesselsduring the construction of the road which passed the south side of Stevens, Iowa. In the mid-1920's, he and a brother (Edward) started farming near Stevens, approximately six miles northwest of Buffalo Center."

Funeral services for Marvin Delmar Bosma,. 60, are to be held today, Thursday, December 17, 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist Church with Rev. Lois Abel officiating. Interment was at Olena Mound Cemetery with Winter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Organist for the service was Jan Missman and the soloist was Rochelle Wickwire. Casketbearers were Dick Bosma, Dennis Bosma, Steve Bosma, Ray Bosma, Gerhald Maass and DcWayne Maass.

Marvin Delmar Bosma, son of Lewis and Lizzie (Maass) Bosma, was born August 19, 1938 in Stevens. On January 5, 1972, Marvin married Betty Krominga at the United Methodist Church in Buffalo Center. Marvin served in the Army and was a member of the Buffalo Center American Legion. He was a board member of the elevator and a member of the United Methodist"

Marvin passed away Monday, December 14, 1998 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Betty, of Buffalo Center; two step-children: Vicki Boyd of Phoenix, Arizona; Brad and his wife, Debbie, Hanns of Knoxville; two step-granddaughters: Shanda Harms and Elizabeth Hanns; one step-great-grandson, Trevor Harms; four brothers: Donald and his wife, Martha Lou, Bosma of Indianapolis, Indiana; Arnold and his wife, Judy, Bosma of Montgomery, Texas; Howard and his wife, Jerri, Bosma of Eagan, Minnesota; Glen and his wife. Sue Bosma of Houston, Texas; two sisters: Doris and her husband, Bill Haroldson of Houston, Texas; and Shirley Bosma of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents."
