Ronald Gene Berschman was born May 3, 1952 at the Buffalo Center Hospital in Buffalo Center.
His beginning years were spent on a farm south of Lakota until 1961 when his family moved to a farm northwest of Buffalo Center. He started his education in Lakota and continued in Buffalo Center after moving there. Ron graduated in theclass of 1970 from Buffalo Center High School. He attended college at Iowa State and then a college in Montana. Returning to Buffalo Center, he worked as a mechanic for Jensvolds. He then started a commercial painting business anddrove semi for various companies in his lifetime.
Ron's love were his dog named Skeeter, farming the land with fields of beans and corn, being outdoors, riding his Harley Davidson, and spending time with his friends and family. His smile, that twinkle in his eyes and big hugs will begreatly missed.
The free spirit was what Ron had, never wanting to be too long in any place. He was always the one to be 'fashionably' late, and before you knew it, you'd turn around and he was gone.
Ron was a big man with a bigger heart. He had the gift of talking to anyone, whether he know you or not. You may have started the conversation as strangers, but ended as friends. His list of friends is endless.
Ron is susvived by his parents, John and Jane Berschman of Buffalo Center; brother Tim and wife, Vicki, of Buffalo Center; sisters Deb Aukes and husband Doug, Joann Steffensen and husband Paul, all of Buffalo Center, and Denise Watkinsand husband Jim, of Urbana, IL; nieces and nephews: Nicole Seng, Brooke, Wade and Bridget Aukes, Tony and Abby Steffensen, and Alison Watkins, and their families. those who also will miss him are uncles and aunts, Donald and Ruth Clapperif Burt, IA; Kay Newel of Newton, IA; Joe and Dorothy Berschman of Buffalo Center; Pete and Pat Smidt of Fayetteville, AK [sic]; Bill and Arvilla Smidt fo Blue Springs, MO along with many cousins.
