Waseca Marlys Kay Winter, age 68, of Waseca, died on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at her home. Born on Aug. 31, 1945, in Blue Earth, she was the daughter of Arvil and Evelyn (Hiller) Winter. Marlys graduated from Blue Earth High School. She was employed with Telex in Blue Earth before moving to Waseca in 1975. Since moving to Waseca she had been employed with Waseca Mutual Insurance, E.F. Johnson Co., and Itron. Marlys was currently working at Taco John's in Waseca. She enjoyed horseback riding. She is survived by one son, Tim Winter (friend, Leslee Milbrath), of Waseca; and four grandchildren, Sage Winter, Brittany Harding, Derrick Brandvold, and Kayla Melchert. She is also survived by one brother, Dave Winter, of Blue Earth; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Sharon McCarthy. Burial at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
