Sharon McCarthy age 71 of Blue Earth, MN passed away Sunday April 22, 2012 at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Services will be held at 11 AM Friday April 27 at Jacobsen & Winter Funeral Home in Blue Earth. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery Blue Earth, MN

Visitation will be Thursday April 26 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.

Sharon Ann McCarthy was born December 6, 1940 to Arvil and Evelyn (Hiller) Winter. She grew up and attended high school in Blue Earth, MN.

After two marriages she was blessed with six beautiful children. She was a mother first and foremost and therefore worked many jobs to provide for her family. She was blessed with seven grandchildren.

She loved cooking, attending auctions, collecting antiques and spending time outdoors. Sharon was also the treasurer of the Warroad Eagles.

The last 20 years were spent with her once high school sweetheart after many years apart.

Sharon is survived by her fiancé of 20 years, Roger Peterson of Blue Earth, MN, her sons Robert Espeland and his fiancé Stephanie of Kindred, ND, Brian Espeland of Blue Earth, MN, Jeff (Lori) Espeland of Barnesville, MN, RJ (Annie) McCarthy of Clear Lake, MN and daughter Melanie (Bobbe) Garvick of Elmore, MN; her sister Marlys Winter of Waseca, MN and her brother David (Mandy) Winter of Blue Earth, MN; as well as her eight beloved grandchildren; Rachel, Kallie, Spencer, Makalia, Mason, Samantha, Harley and JT.

She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Michael.
