Roy Swalve Rites Set For Tuesday

Roy Swalve, 63, Estherville, died Jan. 20, 1973, at Veterans Hospital in St. Cloud, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Estherville, the Rev. G. O. St. Lawrence officiating. Burial will be made in East Side Cemetery, with military graveside services.

Mr. Swalve was born May 28, 1909, to Mr. and Mrs. Otto Swalve. He was educated in Aplington and was married May 20, 1942, to Meta Bassett Mitchell in Ceylon. He lived in Ledyard and Bancroft area as a young man, then moved to Estherville where he was employed by the city for a number of years.

A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving him are his brothers, Richard Swalve, Graettinger, John Isebrand, Estherville, Everett Swalve, Kiester, Minn., Otto Swalve, Estherville, Ellsworth Swalve, LeMars, Andrew Swalve, Bricelyn, Minn.; his sisters, Mrs. Frances Bietz,Whittemore, Mrs. Harry Schroeder, Estherville, Mrs. Forest McGregor, Bancroft, Mrs. Tillie Bebo, Estherville, Mrs. Harold Selberg, Estherville, Mrs. Vern Barlow, Estherville, Mrs. Richard Williams, Nine Mile Falls, Wash., Mrs. Charles Kliene, Chatfield, Minn.; two step-children, Mrs. Elmer Schmidtke, Estherville, and Melvin Mitchell, Dodge Center, Minn.; and four step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother.

Serving as pallbearers for the funeral will be Harvey Schroeder, Allen Schroeder, Lowell Swalve, Lawrence Swalve, Vernon McGregor and Dennis Grems. Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville.
