In 1931, when he was given as the informant for the death certificate for his half-uncle, Karl Meijer, Uncle Hank spelt his name Meijer.

Faith = Lakota Community Chapel.

Occupation = farmer. His farm was at the northwest corner of IA 9 and U.S. 169 in Ledyard Twp., straight north of Lakota, IA

HM died in Kossuth County Hosp. HM is buried in Maple Hill Cem. just southeast of Lakota, IA.

HM emigated to U.S.A. in 17 Mar 1925 with his younger brother, Carl Meyer né Karl Meijer, aboard the ship Stuttgart.

Some in Henry's family insisted on giving him a middle name. On Erna's obiit, for instance, Henry's name is given as William Henry Meyer.

German emigration documents dated in ca. 1938 describe Hinderk Meyer as 5'9' - grau Augen - Hair blond - married 31 Jan 1938. His birth registration is available at Bunde. - documents in posession of Gary Meyer.

His name was legally changed from Hinderk Meyer to Henry Meyer on 23 Dec 1940 - Kossuth Co., IA. When he changed the spelling of his last name from Meijer to Meyer is not determined. - Repository: Gary Meyer, Ledyard Twp., Kossuth Co.,IA.
