Christena Heyer, 89, of Woden died Saturday, Jan 6, 1990 at the Nora Springs Care Center of natural causes.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Christian Reformed Church southwest of Woden with the Rev. Gerald DeVries officiating. burial was in the church cemetery.

Cataldo Funeral Chapel, Woden was in charge of arrangements.

Christena was born May 4, 1900, in Buffalo Center, a daughter of Wessell and Sophia (Ascher) Jutting. She attended rural Buffalo Center schools.

She married Henry Heyer February 7, 1923, in Buffalo Center. they farmed in the Buffalo Center, Titonka and Woden areas until retiring in 1951, when they moved into Woden. due to ill health, she had lived at the care center since 1984.She was a member of the christian Reformed Church, Woden, and the Woden Birthday Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dean (Iris) Tweed, Marble Rock; two sons, Merle Heyer, Arvada, CO, and Russell Heyer, Wind Lake, WI; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, one granddaughter, three sisters and three brothers."
