He left Belmond in 1927 and worked for Standard Oil Co. for 26 years in Mason City. (He operated a Standard OilStation). He married Mary Ellen HUTSON in 1928 and after her death he married Ena Adaline HARDIN HART (Wid) on September 19, 1959. After retiring form the oil station he worked for Currie Manufacturing Co. He was first a member of theMethodist Church, and after his second marriage joined the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mason City. In addition to his first wife he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Surviving are his wife Ena of Mason city, astep-son Lowell Hart of Bettendorf; two brothers: George and Donald, both of Belmond; and seven sisters: Nellie Barkema, Belmond; Rose (Mrs. Ralph) Baker, Belmond; Helen (Mrs Gene) Kelley, of Oxford Junction: Mourine (Mrs Joe) Pele,Belmond: Mabel (Mrs. Clif) Evans, Clarion; Mary Jasperson (Mrs. Andy), of Glendale, California; and Margaret (Mrs. Ken) Parker, Yucipa, California. Casket bearers were Hauko Barkema, Lambert Barkema, Leo9 Barkema, Carl Green, Randy Hart,Harold Myrton, and Thomas Lee Hart. ..."

Ellen Furston and Bert Lieuwen Wed in Quiet Ceremony

Ellen Funston, 801 North Washington avenue, was married Saturday afternoon to Bert Lieuwen, son of'Mr. and Mrs. T. T. Lieuwen of Belmond, and the ceremony was read by the Rev. R. H. Pannkuk of Meservey.

Attendants were Maurine Lieuwen, sister of the bridegroom, maid of honor, and Joe Pals of Meservey, best man. The bride wore a dress of tan georgette and her corsage was of rosebuds. The bridesmaid's corsage also was of rosebuds andshe-wore green georgette.

A wedding dinner was served following the ceremony.

Mrs. Lieuwen was reared in Crawfordsville, Ind., and was graduated from the high school there. For the past few years she has been employed in the county treasurer's office. Mr. Lieuwen is employed by the Standard Oil company. They willmake their home at the Kirk apartments ------- The above announcement listed Ellen's last name as Funson but other articles indicate her maiden name was Hutson.
