BIOGRAPHY: Attended Country School while living in Hancock Co., Avery Twp., Section 34. She stayed home and helped her mother, Helen with the smaller children. Her sisters Grace and Nellie were married and gone and Rose was the nextoldest girl. She helped Nellie and Grace when they had babies. Sister Helen [Toot] finished 8th grade. Rose found Geography hard. Her first job was with Uncle John and Aunt Jennie Lieuwen [ brother of her father Teeke] who lived inBelmond, IA. They took in boarders in their home. Another job was at a Resturant [sic] in Belmond that was run by Fosters. They had two boys Arnold and Victor who [sic] she took care of sometimes instead of working in the resturaunt[sic]. They also had boarders above the resturant [sic] like a dormitory, she changed bedding. Rose went to Dumont and helped Uncle Pete Lieuwen and wife Katie Lieuwen when he broke his leg. Uncle Pete was married twice. She alsoworked in Dumont in a resturaunt [sic] waiting on tables and in a store. When whe was about 19 she worked in Alexander at Greenfields. They boarded teachers. Rose helped with the washing, ironing, house cleaning. they had a little boyFrederick that she helped care for. Rose went to dances and danced alot with Johnny Baker. Ralph's brother, She doesn't remember meeting Ralph [her husband] at the dances but met him when he delivered milk at the resturant [sic], inBelmond, IA.

DEATH: Death odcurred at Clarion, IA. Care Center, Clarion, IA. at 9:45 am on April 1, 1998. Personally witnessed death. Recorded in Clarion, Wright Co., ..."
