"ELTON W HUISMAN

WEBSTER CITY - Elton W. Huisman, 65, Webster City, died Friday at the Hamilton County Hospital at Webster City.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Missionary Alliance Church in Blairsburg, with the Rev. Ian Hoover officiating. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery east of Kamrar, with a graveside flag-folding service conducted by American Lergion Post No. 550 of Jewell. Visitation is until 9 p.m. today at Foster Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Harmina, Jewell; sons, Arvid, Creston, Gerald, Webster City, and David and Paul, both of Jewell; daughters Shirley Nelson, Blairsburg, and Trudy Huisman, Omaha, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Deloris Schaa and Marjorie Pannkuk, both of Webster City; and brothers, Floud, Viola, Wis., Sterling, of Albert Lea, Minn., and Ronald, Hot Springs, Ark.

Elton William Huisman was born Jan. 21, 1927, on a farm southeast of Kamrar. He attended rural schools in Lyon Township. In 1940, he moved with his parents to a farm near Titonka. He married Harmina Gelder in 1945 at Titonka. He served with the U.S. Army in 1945 to 1946 during World War II. After the war, he returned to Titonka, where the couple farmed until 1952. They then moved back to Hamilton County, and he was employed as a feed mill operator at Co-op elevators at Ellsworth, Jewell, Randall and Kamrar, retiring in 1969 because of failing health. He had been a resident of Southfdield [sic] Care Center in Webster City since January 1990.
