    John Mouw of Maurice passed away at the local hospital shortly after noon Tuesday, Oct. 14. He had been ill for many months with a serious heart condition.

    Funeral services will be held at the Van Etten funeral home at Orange City at 2 p.m. Thursday Oct. 16 with Rev. Henry Eggink of Hospers officiating. Burial will take place at the Orange City cemetery.

    Mr. Mouw was born at Fond-du-Lac county, Wis., on Jan. 18, 1881, and came to Sioux county as a boy. He was unmarried.

    Survivors include two brothers, Evert Mouw and Jake Mouw, both of Orange City and four sisters, Mrs. Ella Duistermars of Orange City, Mrs. C. J. De Jong and Mrs. Hubert De Jong both of Maurice and Mrs. Dick Kreykes of Sioux Center. He was a brother of Henry Mouw of Hull, who was killed in a tractor accident last week and whose funeral services were held at Hull on Saturday afternoon.
