BLG1850 (Kennedy of Bennane and Finnarts) reports that Alexander of Bargany, father of the below-mentioned Thomas of Bargany, married Katharine, sister of David, Earl of Cassillis (ie. dau of 2nd Lord, aunt of the 2nd Earl). However, TSP (Cassillis) and BP1934 (Ailsa) show her as marrying Thomas Kennedy, eldest son of Gilbert of Bargany. The specificness of that phrasing indicates that those records should be preferred over BLG1850 whilst the dates suggest (but are not certain) that the generations may have been as shown here. Indeed, it appears that the Alexander who later succeeded to Bargany could have been either a son or a grandson of a younger brother of this Thomas.
