Notes about Martin Peter Visser


Martin "Marty" Peter Visser, of Lynden, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2008. He was 77 years old. Marty lived most of his life in Lynden and was in the first class that graduated from Lynden Christian School.

Marty could be stubborn, but he loved his family and the outdoors. He could think of nothing better than to be with his grandkids and other family members while hunting, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed basketball, softball (as coach), and swimming.

He was a farmer, truck driver, and was very loyal to his employers at Darigold, Visser Oil, and Price Brothers.

Marty was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Martha Visser; brother, Don; son-in-law Pete Bovenkamp, Jr.; and great-granddaughter, Angel Joy Visser.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Marty's name to Relay for Life/Lynden Chapter, 728 134th St. SW, Suite 101, Everett, WA 98204.
