Notes about Gertrude Wichers


BROERSMA, Gertrude, age 54, of Lynden, Route 3, passed away at a local hospital, Monday April 4, (1955) following a short illness. She had been a resident of the Lynden district for the past 25 years.

She is survived by her husband, Thys; two daughters, Jeanette Eshuis, Ferndale Route 1, Marcella at home; four sons, Julian, Lynden Rt. 3; Marion, Denver, Colo.; Chester, Midland Park, Mich.; her father, Marinus Wichers, Lynden; four brothers, Henry Wichers, Lynden; Ben, Royal Oak, Mich.; Garrit, Morris, Iowa; Hessel of Lynden; three sisters, Mrs. Pete Visser, Lynden; Mrs. Lawrence Boersma, Everson, Rt. 1; Mrs. Raymond Theaty of Downs, Kan.; seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted, Thursday, April 7, at 2 p. m. from the Third Christian Reformed Church in Lynden with Rev. F. W. VanHouten officiating. Interment Monumenta Cemetery under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden.
