A. Donald Visser, 75, of Tacoma, passed away on September 28, 1996 at St. Joseph Hospital. Don was the second of eight children born to Peter and Martha Visser in Downs, Kansas on August 20, 1921. In 1932 his family moved from Kansas to Lynden, Washington where he grew up and married Pat (Hattie) Roosma. During World War II he served in the Army and received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, American Theater Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. He has resided in Tacoma for the past 34 years and retired as General Manager of LeMay Enterprises. He served as an alternate on the Pierce County Board of Equalization for four years. He was an active member of Parkland Kawanis Club and the Christian Reformed Community Church where he served as an Elder. Don is survived by his loving wife, Pat of 55 years; sons Leroy Visser of Port Orchard, Dale (Diana) Visser of Spanaway, Vance Visser of Tacoma; daughters Vivien (Gery) Smith of California, Donna (Dan) Stearns of Bellevue; sisters Dorothy (Roger) Posthuma of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Henrietta (Vernon) Olin and Bernice (John) VanDalen of Lynden, Washington; brothers Bernard (Ruth) Visser, Harold (Joyce) Visser, Martin Visser, and George (Gladys) Visser all of Lynden, Washington; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. His children and grandchildren will always remember him by his caring and love for his family. Memorial services Tuesday, 2pm, at Christian Reformed Community Church, 2319 E. 72nd St. Arrangements by Dryer Mortuary.
