Thomas George Shoemaker:
"Aunt Mandy and Uncle John came out and they went up to Kelso, WA with Mom and built the Lucky House, a boarding house and hotel. They catered to the workmen at the Long Bell Lumber Company...They disposed of the Lucky House around the 1930's, bought a farm up near Raymond, WA so John could farm. That didn't pan out and they exchanged for an apartment in Cheahles, WA. This operation was not to their liking, so they moved back to Kelso and went into retirement and this lasted for several years."
