He was the comman der of the Francs in the great Battle of the Catalonic Fiel ds, where he defeated Attila the Hun in 451. It is from hi s name that the kings of the First Race derived their name . The Huns had steadily increased their domination from hum ble beginnings off the Caspian sea from Caucase to the Elbe , from Muldavia to Hungary in the later part of the Fourt h Century.
