Funeral services for Annie Meyering, 89, of Buffalo Center were held Saturday morning, December 19, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Buffalo Center with Rev. Gary Bergman officiating. Interment was in Olena Mound Cemetery withWinter Funeral Hohie of Buffalo Center in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Meyering died Wednesday, December 16, 1992 at Timely Mission Nursing Home."

Annie Meyering, daughter of Fred and Minnie (Fisher) Brass was born June 20, 1903 in Burdette, Iowa. She attended country school in the Buffalo Center area.
On September 23, 1925 she married Tony Meyering. They resided northeast of Buffalo Center. Annie enjoyed embroidery and crocheting. For the past two years she resided at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center. ... She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Tony; two sons, Fred and Richard; one son-in-law, Harold; a grandson, Roger, and by two brothers, Aeilt and William." <>

"John, Jr. and Anna (Eisenhauer) Abels
John Abels, Sr. was born August 4, 1890 at Nieuweschans, Groningen, Holland. He spent his boyhood there. He married Johanna Meyering at Bellingvolede, Holland and established their home; John Jr. was born there. John, Sr.'s father(Opa) came to the U.S. first and two years later, in 1913, John, Sr. followed them to Kamrar, Iowa, but Johanna (Oma) would not go unless her brother, Jerry would come too. (See Heiko Meyering article.) The Henry Dontje's, who came tothe U.S. with them, moved from Kamrar to Buffalo Center first and liked the area and told the Meyerings, so in 1918 they aloso moved to the George Johnson farm (where Hank Dohlman lives). Two years later, in 1920, John and Johanna andchildren John, Jr., Joe, Jennie, and Edward moved on another George Johnson farm (where Dave Abels lives now) and they farmed there. They retired in 1948 and John, Sr. passed away at age 62. Johanna was the daughter of John and Everdeana Meyering and was born November 10, 1889. Her sisters were Yerena and Trena (Skilbred), and brothers were Ben, Jerry, Tony, John, Henry, and Heiko. ..."

About 100 relatives and friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Meyering Sunday to honor them on their silver wedding anniversary. The gathering was a complete surpise to them as it was planned and carried out by theirdaughters. A family dinner was served at noon, followed by a social afternoon. Lunch was served in the afternoon with the table centered with a three tier wedding cake which was topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom. "Funeral Services Held Friday For Tony Meyering
Funeral services for Tony Meyering were held Friday afternoon at one o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock in the Methodist church in Buffalo Center. The Rev. C. W. Huffman, pastor of the Ellis Point and Thompson churches officiated.
A quartet from the Reformed church in Buffalo Center, composed of Wm. Harms, Fred Harms, August Jutting and Pete Voogd, sang, "Rock of Ages," and "Jesus Saviour Pilot Me." They were accompanied by Mrs. August Jutting. Mrs. August Nerdigsang "Beyond the Sunset." She was accompanied by Mrs. Harold Elman, the church organist.
Pallbearers were: Ben Hovland, Allen Berven, W. L. Henderson, Lloyd Larson, Lloyd Lunstrum and Guy Beaver.
Interment was in the Buffalo Center cemetery.
Tony Meyering was born in Bellingwolde, Holland, March 20, 1899. At the age of 15 he came with his parents to the United States and located near Kalmrar, Iowa. In 1918 they moved to a farm near Buffalo Center, Iowa, where he spent theremainder of his life. He passed away Monday afternoon, Dec. 6, at the age of 55 years, 8 months and 16 days.
On September 23, 1925, he was united in marriage to Miss Annie Brass and to this union six children were born.
His parents, two sisters, a brother and one grandchild preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Everdena (Mrs. Mino Folkerts) Eagle Grove, Anne (Mrs. Bert Wepple) Woden, and Fanny at home; three sons, Fred ofBuffalo Center and Johnny and Richard at home; also two sisters, four brothers and a host of friends."
