Per information from Jo Church Dickerson in a msg on the Harrelson Rootsweb mailing list dated 6 Jun 2003: "She married a Hodges after the birth of Hugh H. Harrelson (Marin Co., SC). In 1824 she gave her son Hugh H. Harrelson her dower in the lands of her deceased Hodges husband. Hugh H. harrelson was not a direct descendant of Benjamin Harrelson, Esquire, as proven by the will and estatte records of Benjamin, Esquire and by numerous deeds, especially the one from his mother, Jane.
She may be a daughter of Josiah Harrelson in whose will of 1822 is named a daughter Jane. Althoug it has notbeen proven she is the most logical candidate. She is show on some Harrelson charts as having married a Hodges, but I have seen no proff of that. However, since there was a young Josiah Hodges with land bounding on Josiah Harrelson's estate lands in Horry a few years after Josiah Harrelson's death, it is reasonable to ask if that might have been a son of Josiah Harrelson's daughter, Jane Harrelson (Hodges?), who may have also have been the mothe of Hugh H. Harrelson. - Jo Church Dickerson.

NOTE from Henny Carlisle - Jane is listed in her father's will as Jane Patience, both Hugh Harrelson and Josiah Hodges are mentioned in this will of 1822, which was probated in 1854 in Horry Co., SC
