There is a tax listing for Joseph Harrelson in Anson Co., NC in 1763. Is that for this Joseph Harrelson.?
"If Su song was a Sawra Indian that could be Cheraw, Sara, Saura etc. Indians (Per Jo Church Dickerson <(XXXXX@XXXX.XXX)) They were above Winston-Salem prior to early 1700s when they made a southward movement infringing in the lands of the Pee Dee Indians......After the Sara Indians got to SC their name stuck to the Old Cheraws district and the town of Cheraw. Others contect this, showing that many Pee Dee Indians were moved from our area down to Orangeburg County, SC to some lands toat had been purchase for them to reside on. If there is a grain of truth to the Sawra Indian wife for Joseph Harrelson, I supposed it lies somewhere in that reality. Interestingly, Anson lies directly across from the state line from the Old Cheraws District (present day Chesterfeld county)
