Notities over Patience Lewis Harrelson

Per Thomas L. Cain ((XXXXX@XXXX.XXX)): She was born in New Hanover Co., Va, however New Hanover, Co wasn't formed until 1720.

DATE AND PLACE OF DEATH UNKNOWN.

She is mentioned with her husband Paul Harrelson in "Pioneer Lewis Families" by Michael Lewis Cook.Vol II pg 4 and Vol IV pg 21

Another mention of her is made in Vol. IV Pg. 54:

It there lists the children of Major John Lewis, who died abt 1689. There was most probably a will, since his lands were divided, it appears, among at least several of his sons. The will is not existant, having been destroyed with the county records. We do know that the eldest son, Edward Lewis, received possibly the majority of the home plantation, 1000 in Gloucester Co., and 640 acres in New Kent (King and Queen) County, . John Lewis, second son, received the 2600 acre Chemokin plantation in far western New Kent County, and at least a part of the land in Essex County. It seems that Nicholas Lewis received 350 acres in Gloucester, Zachary Lewis 650 acres in New Kent (King and Queen), or, it is possible just 150 acres there, and David Lewis seems to have received 120 acres in New Kent (King and Queen). James and Thomas seem to have left the area shortly after the death of their father. James being transported to the area where the Essex County land lay, and possibly received a part of this tract.
