    Tekst van het bidprentje;

    VAn de 10 kinderne was Herman de oudste van de jongens. Heel zijn leven heeft hij hard gewerkt op de boerderij, Eerlijk en oprecht-zonder omhaal van woorden- samenvattend kan men zijn manier doen weergeven met het gezegde: "Bidt en werk." Geen moeilijke man om mee te leven. Integendeel! Diep gelovig als hij wasgaf he dat steun en kracht en ook een diepe vreugde die tot uiting kwam in zijn grote en liefdevolle aandacht voor de kerk en wat daarmee samenhing.

    De laatste 8 jaren mocht hij niet meer werken vanwege hartoperaties en daarna een leverkwaal. Maar hij bleef genieten van de natuur van alles vwat groeit en bloeit.

    Tot het laatste moment was hij van alles op de hoogte, hij las graag boeken en bleef meeleven met de boerderij.

    Over zijnpijn en jeuk van de laatste maanden heeft hij nooit geklaagd Hij verdroeg het . Misschien moeten we zeggen dat het voor hem er gewoon bij hoorde, zoals het kruis in het leven van Jezus"
