Vervulde in 1935 de dienstplicht en werd in 1939 opgeroepen in verband met de mobilisatie. Werd tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog ingedeeld bij de Mitrailleur Compagnie van het 12e Regiment Infanterie Groningen. Albertus heeft de eerste oorlogsdagen actief doorgebracht ter verdediging van het Vliegveld Ypenburg bij Den Haag tot aan de capitulatie.

Albertus heeft verschillende kerkelijke functies bekleed, zoals collectant en ouderling.

Was brandstoffenhandelaar [kolen en olie] aan de Westerhaven 9 in Groningen. Deze zaak is door Alb. Henderikus en broer Anne overgenomen van vader Ate Trox. Eind jaren '60 is de zaak gesplitst en heeft Alb.een gedeelte van de pakhuisruimte als studentenhuisvesting ingericht en een tweede vestiging bebouwd met autoboxgarages die werden verhuurd. Na 1970 ging Alb. in deeltijd werken als [justitieambtenaar] bode bij de Arrondissementsrechtbank van Groningen tot 1980.
