Doopnaam is niet bekend alleen de roepnaam.
Omdat de naturalisatie nog niet rond was, werden gedurende de Tweede Wereldoorlog Benny en zijn broer Emil opgeroepen door de Wehrmacht en zijn daar inderdaad in dienst geweest. Volgens getuige [Harmina Lever-Weersing] hebben zij aan het Oostfront gevochten maar goed doorstaan.

In tegenstelling tot zijn broer Emil heeft Benny de Duitse nationaliteit behouden en heeft zich na de oorlog gevestigd in Lemgo. Voor zover bekend heeft zijn dochter Bertha zich naderhand weer gevestigd in Groningen.
