Wilhelmus Hendrikus Saaij, oudste zoon van Willen Saaij en Huiberdina Verhoeven, woonde en werkte tot 1955 in Vlissingen. Eerst als scheepstimmerman en later als calculator bij scheepswerf De Schelde. Hij trouwde met Maria C.P. de Meulder, dochter van Thomas C.P. de Meulder, schilder bij scheepswerf De Schelde en Theresia Kuijs. ( Er is een (deel)stamboom van het geslacht De Meulder). Als lid van de Mareschaussee Reserve werd hij ooit kampioen pistoolschieten van Zeeland. In Vlissingen woonde hij onder meer aan de Hogeweg en de Callefeltstraat. In 1955 trok hij met zijn vrouw en twee zonen naar de gemeente Ridderkerk, Prinses Marijkestraat 8. Hij kwam in dienst van de Firma Schram voorheen Scheepswerven Piet Heijn als Timmermansbaas. In 1981 verhuisde hij naar de Paltrokmolen 64 in de wijk Drievliet. Zijn oudste zoon Willem Thomas werd op 24-2-1950 te Vlissingen geboren. Evenals zijn tweede zoon Thomas Willem op 20-5-1952.
