Notes about Andries Saaij

Andries Saaij, jongeman van Dendermonde, diende als soldaat in de Compagnie van de Colle Balfour in het bataljon van de Gen. Maj. Prince van Stolberg. Hij trouwt op 1 juli 1756 te Groningen met Pietertje Hilkes (Heijlkes) uit Groningen met wie hij op 12 juni 1756 in ondertrouw was gegaan. Toestemming voor dit huwelijk werd verleend door de stedevader(stiefvader) van Pietertje Hielkes, genaamd Willem Jans. Omdat Pietertje, die gedoopt is op 19-10-1735 te Groningen in de A-Kerk, op 7-4-1790 voor de tweede maal trouwt en wel met Gerardus Ejes ( ondertrouw 13-3-1798) is het zeer aannemelijk dat Andries Saaij voor 1790 is overleden. Pietertje staat op 18 februari 1829 geboekt als lidmaat van de N.H kerk te Groningen.
