Notes about Lammert Nijborg

Lammert gaat na de openbare lagere school in Annen op zijn 14e als boerenknecht aan het werk. Vlak voor de bevrijding, in april 1945 ontdekt hij in het Evertsbos tussen Eext en Anloo een massagraf van door Duitsers doodgeschoten Groninger verzetsstrijders. Hij moet als jongeman vanwege natte pleuritis een tijdlang thuis kuren. In maart 1950 wordt Lammert voor de
dienstplicht te Groningen gekeurd. Na aanvullend geneeskundig onderzoek wordt hij voorgoed ongeschikt bevonden voor de militaire dienst. Na zijn huwelijk werkte hij afwisselend als ongeschoold arbeider in de bouwnijverheid en in de landbouw. Ook heeft nog een tijdje bij exportslagerij Udema in Gieten gewerkt. In 1954 werkte Lammert achtereenvolgens als grondwerker bij de Nederlandse Heide Maatschappij en als boerenarbeider op landbouwbedrijven in Annen, Annerveen, Schipborg en Tynaarlo. Eind jaren vijftig werkt Lammert weer in de bouwnijverheid. Vervolgens is hij meerdere jaren actief als grondwerker bij het kabelbedrijf van Alsema te Zuidlaren. In 1966 wordt hij vanwege een nieraandoening voor revalidatie opgenomen in Beatrixoord te Haren. Na een tijdlang in de Ziektewet en WAO te hebben gezeten. werkt hij eind jaren zestig en begin jaren zeventig als bouwvakker in het kader van de sociale werkvoorziening in Gieten.
Daarna worden bij Lammert hernia’s en hart- en vaatklachten geconstateerd en is hij volledig arbeidsongeschikt. Zijn vrouw Coby werkte voor haar trouwen als dienstmeisje. Na hun huwelijk wonen ze een tijdlang in bij Lammerts ouders aan de Eexterweg 7 te Annen. Na de geboorte van hun dochter Marchien in 1952 verhuist het gezin naar de Zuidlaarderweg 7 op de
Annerstreek te Annen. Daar wordt in 1953 hun zoon Sienus, geboren. Medio mei 1958 wordt de woning aan de Bartelaar 23 te
Annen gehuurd van de gemeente Anloo tegen een huurprijs van 6,60 gulden per week. In 1967 wordt hun dochter Hermina (Hermien) geboren, die later verblijft in de woon en werkgemeenschap voor autisten te Zuidlaren.
In 1986 verhuizen ze naar Assen (achtereenvolgens aan de Populierstraat 1 en Hofstukken 135). Eind jaren tachtig werd wordt bij Coby suikerziekte ontdekt, een ziekte die ook haar drie zusters onder de leden blijken te hebben. Op 8 augustus 1996 wordt ze vanwege kanker aan de alvleesklier opgenomen en geopereerd in het Academisch Ziekenhuis te Groningen.
Mede ten gevolge van meerdere complicaties overlijdt ze in dit ziekenhuis op 24 augustus 1996. Hierna verkast Lammert als weduwnaar naar een senioren appartement aan De Walakker 139 te Assen. Na een longontsteking en ziekenhuisopname gaat de gezondheid van Lammert sterk achteruit en wordt hij in maart 2015 overgebracht naar het zorgcentrum Borgerhof in Borger. Hier overlijdt hij op 27 april 2015.
