This Gerrit Jan Scholten is the son of Jan and Jennekin. The farmhouse where he lived as a child stands today (2006) After Jan and Jennekan died, their sons, Gerrit and Lambert, ran this farm. After these brothers married, Gerrit and Minnie lived in the farmhouse. The vacant schoolhouse housed Lambert and Anna Scholten and their children for a time.
Minnie Scholten is the widow of Uncle Gerrit Scholten; at time of his death in 1943, they had 5 children between 2 and 11; Gary Scholten-youngest son of Uncle Gerrit Scholten was only 22 months when his father died.
