In de West-Brabantse archieven duiken tezelfdertijd twee vrouwen op met dezelfde naam: Maria Somers/Zomers. Beide trouwen in Wouw, de ene in 1792 ('onze' Maria), de ander in 1795 met ene Gijsbert Aarde, Aarden of Haerde. Uit de geboorteaktes van de kinderen blijkt dat Willem en Maria in ieder geval tussen juni 1793 en augustus 1794 woonden te Kruisland. Daarvoor woonde Maria waarschijnlijk ook in Kruisland, omdat op de huwelijksakte wordt aangegeven 'ex-Kruisland'. Bij de geboorte van dochter Adriana wordt haar achternaam geschreven als ZOOMERS.
