Bij haar geboorte woonden haar ouders op het buurtschap Schriek ten zuidoosten van Essen. Opmerkelijk genoeg wordt zoon Jacobus gedoopt in Bergen op Zoom in 1729, maar dochter Catharina wordt in 1738 gedoopt in Nispen/Essen.
