Gedenk in uwe godvruchtige gebeden de ziel van zaliger WilhelmusMartinus Smits, geboren 26 augustus 1881 te Zoetermeer, aldaar vrijplotseling overleden 17 februari 1957, nog voorzien van het H. Oliesel.Begraven 20 februari d.a.v. op het R.K. Kerkhof aldaar. De overledenewas jarenlang lid van de R.K. Begravenisvereniging. Roem niet op de dagvan morgen, want gij weet niet wat de dag van morgen U zal brengen. Dezewoorden van het Boek der wijsheid zijn zonder twijfel van toepassing opde overledene, wiens spoedig afsterven door eenieder betreurd wordt.Gisteren nog zagen we hem in volle leven en nu ziene wij hem geraaktdoor de dood. Onverwacht, maar net onvoorbereid. Gelukkig de mens, diezo leeft, dat hij altijd bereid is om te sterven.
Van Tobias staat geschreven dat hij de gestorvenen met de grootste zorgbegroef. Zo heeft de dierbare overledene ook velen ten grave gedragenuit louter liefde, gedachtig Tobias'woord: "Wij zijn van het geslachtder heiligen en verwachten het leven, dat God zal schenken aan hen, diehun trouw jegens Hem niet breken". Nu mogen we verwachten dat de engelenhem zullen binnenleiden in het Paradijs. Mijn dierbaren, mijn dank voorUw zorgen en helpt mij door Uw gebeden. Onze Vader - Wees Gegroet. Hijruste in vrede.
