Notes about Susannath Tatum DeBruler
The De Motte and De Brulers were both French Huguenot families and were proud of their heritage. They shunned sharp practices and were contemptuous of anyone who practiced deceit or cunning to gain a temporary advantage over anyone else.
The De Brulers where especially devout people and took a very active part in the Methodist Church. They were people of a warm and affectionate nature and many were scholars. Susannah De Bruler De Motte was a truly perfect representative of the finest traits of the De Bruler family. She was an extremely warm and affectionate person who endowed all of her granddaughters with her finest traits - not one of ithem does not share hir finest qualities. She was a very devout Christian who attended the Bethel Church regularly all her life.
