Notes about Robbert "Rob" de Klark

Rob was als kind nogal ziekelijk, en in plaats van naar school te gaan, kreeg hij thuis les van een gouvernante.
Het schilderij dat Frans Hogerwaard in 1917 van Rob maakte heeft later in het gemeentehuis van Renkum gehangen.
In 1929 ging hij in de meubelzaak van zijn vader werken. Rob verloofde zich in maart 1942 met Winy Klinkspoor. Zij was op 26 juni 1918 in Renkum geboren. Zij verloven zich in maart 1942, maar tegen die tijd wordt vader Jaap de Klark plotseling ernstig ziek, en in de annonce in de krant geven zij aan af te zien van een ontvangdag.
Op17 september 1944 werden parachutisten gedropt boven de Renkumse heide, om de Rijnbrug bij Arnhem te veroveren. Oosterbeek lag een week lang in de vuurlinie. Toen de Engelsen waren verdreven, werden de inwoners van Arnhem en Oosterbeek door de Duitsers geëvacueerd, en pas na de bevrijding konden ze terugkeren om te zien wat er van hun huizen was overgebleven. Het Zonneheem had de oorlog, zij het niet ongeschonden, doorstaan. Ook het winkelpand in Arnhem stond er nog, zodat Rob het bedrijf kon voortzetten. In deze naoorloogse periode geeft Rob in officiële stukken als zijn beroep successievelijk fabrikant, koopman, antiquair, taxateur en zelfs makelaar op.
Rob en Winy trouwen op 21 augustus 1942, maar dit huwelijk houd niet lang stand. Rob hertrouwt op 8 oktober 1955 met Riet Heuterman, geboren op 28 februari 1919 in de gemeente Renkum en van beroep maatschappelijk werkster bij de rubberfabriek in Heveadorp. Dit huwelijk bleef kinderloos.
In 1972 bestaat de firma De Klark 100 jaar en is het tijd voor een groot feest. Er komt een herdenkingsboek onder de titel ?100 jaar J.A. de Klark- Arnhem 1872-1972?, maar in 1977 kwam er een einde aan. De zaak in Arnhem werd verkocht. Rob verkocht de inboedel aan de Oosterbeekse kunsthandelaar Albricht.
In 1975 werd notarieel een boedelscheiding geregeld. Marie en Tincky deden afstand van hun rechten op ?t Zonneheem, zodat Rob nu alleen eigenaar van het huis werd.
Op 1 juni 1977 verkocht Rob 't Zonneheem, waar heel veel achterstallig onderhoud aan was, aan de makelaar Evert den Outer voor 435.000 gulden. Het kostte den Outer nog eens drie ton om het achterstallig onderhoud weg te werken. Een antieke deurklopper, die door de familie de Klark was aangebracht, werd buiten de verkoop gehouden. (Het huis had geen bel). Tot zijn dood in 1988 heeft Rob in een van de flats van Bato's Wijk, Fangmanweg 20, gewoond.
