geboren te Arnhem op 7 Juli 1875
zoon van Jacobus Antonie
en van Francina Johanna Monteba
bij de loting voor de lichting der nationale militie van het jaar 1895, voor de gemeente Arnhem is ten deel gevallen nr. 335. en dat hij vervolgens bij onherroepelijk geworden uitspraak van den Militieraad, uithoofde van lichaamsgebreken ( nr. 250 van het Reglement, vastgesteld bij Staatsblad nr. 151 van 1883) voor den dienst ongeschikt is verklaard.
Gegeven te ARNHEM, den 3 December 1907.
De Commissaris der Koningin in de provincie Gelderland,
w.g. onleesbaar

Volgens bovengenoemd reglement is lichaamsgebrek 250: Ingewandsbreuken.

Van 1912-1923 woonden zij in Bergoord, aan de Fangmanweg in Oosterbeek. De familie de Klark ontving op Bergoord veel schilders. Jaap was zelf een verwoed amateurschilder. Op 16 april 1923 koopt Jaap '?t Zonneheem, Fangmanweg 43, Oosterbeek voor 16.000 gulden van Isaäc Brevée. In hetzelfde jaar verhuisde de familie de Klark naar ?t Zonneheem. Jaap, Marie en hun kinderen waren bekende personen in Oosterbeek, ook al omdat er veelal internationaal bekende schilders, waaronder Maurice Goth en Johan Fabricius, schilder en romancier, op bezoek kwamen.

In het Nieuw Arnhemsch Adresboek wordt vermeld van 1931 t/m 1937 J.A. de Klark, Vossenstraat 3, meubelmakerij. Waarschijnlijk betreft dit alleen de wekplaats, want hij woonde al lang in Oosterbeek.
