Vanaf 1770 hebben we de stamlijn Assmann kunnen traceren in Zurbach (Pruissen). De gebroeders Peter Wilhelm (1834) en Carl Joseph (1836) Assmann komen uit het gebied in Duitsland waar veel aardewerk gemaakt wordt (Pruissen). Rondom 1865 gaan zij om een af andere reden in Nederland werk zoeken. Peter Wilhelm vindt werk bij de spoorwegen in Roosendaal en Carl Joseph gaat werken in de glas- en porseleinindustrie in 's-Hertogenbosch. In 2010 heb ik in het familiearchief ontdekt dat er personen zijn die de naam Assmann ook met één S en één N schreven. Een aantal van die personen heb ik, na nogal wat speurwerk, weten te traceren en heb tevens daarmee een stamlijn in België gevonden. Weer een leuke aanvulling!
