Jacobus Dirk Alta (born 2/3/1883) Jacobus Dirk Alta was the fourth child born to Jacobus and Geeske, Jacobus Dirk moved to Hull from Harlingen along with the rest of his family on 30th October 1894. In 1901 he lived in the family home at 15 Villa Place, Hull. The 1901 census show his age as 18, his occupation was a Fishmonger. Jacobus Dirk married in 1909, he married Caroline Wilkinson. They had twin daughters who were born in 1911 - Lena and Mary, unfortunately Lena died as a baby, Mary Alta lived in the Hull area to the grand age of 91 when she died in July 2002. Jacobus and Caroline had two further children - Frank in 1912 and Gertrude in 1914, sadly both Frank and Gertrude died as young babies.
