Notes about Mary SHERRIN

Mary's will dated 23 August 1800, states;
"Her body was to be buried at the discretion of her executrix, then her bequests were; to her brother Robert one shilling, to her nephew Henry Sherren Harris 50 pounds, to her nephew Robert Sherren 5 pounds annuity, to her sister Jenny, the wife of John Mayo, 5 pounds, to her niece, Jenny, the wife of Matthew Peach, 5 pounds, to her niece Ann, the wife of Sydenham Burch, 5 pounds. To all other nephews and nieces of the first degree of kindred 2/6 each. The residue to go to her niece, Sarah Harris, for her own use and benefit. The will was proved at Dorchester on 27 June 1805, probate being granted to Sarah Harris of Frome St Quintin; total effects under 600 pounds."
The church at Frome S. Quintin is really old and has a small, very squat tower. It was originally the church for Evershot as well. It is reached only by walking along a path through a meadow. In the winter it's usual for worshippers to arrive in gumboots, changing into shoes in the porch. The village of Frome St. Quintin is very small, with cottages set along the road as it winds up a hill. {excerpt taken from Thea & Francis Clayton's book}
