Notes about John Sherring (5th GGF)

John died on 14 February 1714/15 and was buried in Broadmayne churchyard on the 16 February. Later, when a box tomb was set up in memory of John's son Henry, John's name is included on this, with his age given as sixty. It is on this date, of course, that we have based John's birth date, which is a very feasible date for him as a son of Robert and Alice who had married in 1643. {excerpt taken from Thea & Francis Clayton's book}
