12. Wat is U bekend van het tegenwoordig gedrag van dit gezin, wat van de

vroegere levenswijze?

"Aanvrager was, tot 1905, werkzaam in het boschbedrijf van zijn vader te

Minsk in Rusland. Toen de Russisch-Japansche Oorlog uitbrak, vluchtte hij

met zijn vrouw naar hier, om aan den dienstplicht te ontkomen. Hij leerde

hier den diamanthandel (speciaal in z.g. "enden"), was afwisselend als

koopman of als commissionnair werkzaam en had een bescheiden bestaan.

Sedert zeer geruimen tijd reeds is hij zonder verdiensten en heeft het

gezin, dat, vooral wat het jongste kind betreft, zeer veel met ziekte te

kampen heeft, alles op geteerd. De Heer A.M. Herzberg (Secr. des Vereen.

"Steun aan doortrekkenden"), broeder der vrouw, Sarphatistraat 74 boven,

heeft het gezin reeds herhaaldelijk met groote bedragen geholpen, o.a.

begin 1921 met f. 500.-, doch wijl de man absoluut niets verdiende, is

het geld ook weer spoedig op. Na langdurige besprekingen met

ondergeteekende verklaart de Heer H. dat hij niet kan blijven helpen,

omdat zijn eigen (diamant) zaken ook stilstaan, al is de mogelijkheid

niet buitengesloten, dat hij, teneinde het jongste, ernstig zieke kind,

in het leven te houden, te harer behoeve af en toe nog wel iets zal

geven. - Het is een keurig gezin. - Waar deze zaak reeds bijna 2 weken in

behandeling is, acht ik spoedige hulp ad f.20.- per week, gewenscht.

Aanvraag om Voortzetting Geldbedeeling 1/10/1921

Bijzonderheden en veranderingen sinds vorig rapport:

Volgens, van des Directeur des Beurs v.d. Diamanthandel bekomen

inlichtingen, verdient de man niets. Hij zelf geeft op in al deze tijd

dat hij ondersteund wordt, eenmaal f. 3,50 en een maal f.4,50 verdiend te

hebben. Controleerbaar zijn deze cijfers, evenmin als de opgave zijner

collega's, natuurlijk niet. Naar mijne meening is de man echter

betrouwbaar en acht ik ook verdere hulp gewenscht.

Aanvraag om Voortzetting Geldbedeeling 8 Nov. 1921

Bijzonderheden en veranderingen sinds vorig rapport:

Sedert vorig rapport heeft de man nagenoeg geen verdiensten gehad, Voor

zoover hij iets verdiende, was het zoo gering, dat het op het

bedeelingsbedrag geen invloed had. Voortzetting acht ik gewenscht.

Indruk en bijzonderheden:

De man, kleinhandelaar en commissionnair in diamant, is, voor zoover na

te gaan zonder verdiensten. De 16-jarige dochter is sedert de vorige

maand kantoorbediende bij R.S. Stokvis Ltd. op een salaris van f. 25.-

per maand. De bedeeling van het B.A. (tot en met 23 Juni uitgekeerd ad.

f.20.- per week) werd niet verminderd, omdat reeds de eerste maand f.21.-

lesgeld moest worden betaald. Waar de Crisis-commissie met dergelijke

omstandigheden geen rekening houdt, zal 's mans ondersteuning verminderd

worden. Hem is evenwel dezerzijds toegezegd, dat hij eventueel aan het

B.A. betaling van het lesgeld kan aanvragen.

De Heer A.M. Herzberg, Sarphatistraat 74, zwager van belanghebbende,

steunt in natura, ten behoeve van het jongste kind, dat ernstig ziek is

en alleen met bijzondere en kostbare voeding in het leven kan worden

gehouden.

26/6/1922

Werd op 27 maart 1943 in het kamp Westerbork ingesloten in barak 63,

op 6 april 1943 gedeporteerd naar Sobibor en op 9 april 1943 te Sobibor

overleden (vergast.) Deze datum is in de Staatscourant van 27.10.1949

gepubliceerd.
