'Lawrence Henry Dirks, 63, of Worthington, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 22, 1996 at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, MN.

Born May 24, 1932 in Fulda, MN, he was the son of Henry and Katherine Dirks. He attended Reading School and graduated from Worthington High School.

He married Marybeth Ludlow on September 10, 1950. Lawrence and Alice were married April 19, 1975.

Lawrence was a businessman and entrepreneur in many areas including Farmer, Meat & Poultry inspector, Auto Parts, Real Estate Broker, Auto & Implement Dealership business for many years, Investor, Collector, and Auctioneer. He enjoyedwhatever he did. His family and friends were the joy of his life.

Survived by wife, Alice Dirks; six sons, David Lawrence (Cherie), Rockford, IL; Paul Douglas, Lubbock TX; Thomas Henry (Rose), San Antonio, TX; Timothy Ludlow (Stephanie), Lubbock, TX; Nathan Bedford (Nancy), Sioux City, IA; Shane AlanGalles (Diane), Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Amy Patrice (Garry), Dallas, TX; 17 grandchildren; one sister, Judy (Lee) Harlow, Sioux City, IA; and one brother, Alfred Dirks, Dennison, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Katherine Dirks, and one infant son, Dennis Bedford Dirks.

Memorial services will be Monday, February 26, 1996 at 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Worthington, with Pastor John Moe officiating. Burial will be in the Pfingsten Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 25, 1996 at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington from 2 - 5 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m.'
