CLARK - Funeral services for Shryl Dawn Warkenthien, 54, of Clark, formerly of Willow Lake, will be Monday, March 16 at 11 a.m. in The United Methodist Church at Clark with Rev. Lin Jennewein officiating. Music will be presented by organist Wanda Bethke and soloist David Warkenthien.

Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark. Active pallbearers will be Kendall and Leslie Peterson, Tim Struckman, March McPeek, David Carroll, Stephen and Jonathan Simon, David, Todd, Rick, Scott, Ryan and Shawn Warkenthien, Jim and Mike Woodland, Doug LaMont and Brad and Aaron Kangas. At the request of the cemetery association, only the immediate family should go to the cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Furness Funeral Home at Clark and Monday at the church one and a half hours preceding the services. The family is requested to meet at the church by 10:30 a.m. Monday to attend the services.

Mrs. Warkenthien died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at a Mesa, Ariz., hospital.

She was born Aug. 4, 1943, to Shirley and Hazel (Bruns) McPeek at Clark. She was baptized and confirmed in the Congregational Church at Willow Lake. She attended Lake Township Country School in southern Clark County, Willow Lake High School and Business School in Huron.

On Nov. 4, 1961, she married Delwyn Warkenthien at Willow Lake. After living a short time in Sioux Falls and Watertown the couple made thier home on a farm south of Willow Lake. In 1965, they moved to their present farm east of Clark.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Clark and participated in the church circle and neighborhood clubs. She enjoyed sewing, making much of her families clothing and doing various jobs for others.

Survivors include her husband, Delwyn, of Clark, two daughters and sons-in-law, Carmen and Alden Brown of Faulkton and Carla and Bob Taepke of Coon Rapids, Minn.: a son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Lana Warkenthien of Bowdle; a grand-daughter, her father, Shirley McPeek of De Smet; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and Verle Peterson of Revillo, Judy and Dwight Struckman of Watertown and Debbie and Chuck Dammann of Watertown; a brother and sister-in-law, Vance and Irene McPeek of Mitchell and a brother-in-law, Mike Carroll of De Smet."
