Murrer - Mr. Walter T Murrer, 78, of Jacksonville passed away Sunday, March 4, 2001 at his residence. The Salem, Ohio native had lived in Jacksonville since 1941. Mr. Murrer, a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corp, serving during WWII, was a member of Epperson United Church and had retired from National/Pan American Airlines after 48 years service as a mechanic. He was the founder of J & W Engine Service. Mr. Murrer was a member of the Scottish Rite where he was a 32 degree Mason. Survivors include: his wife of 55 years, Carolyn F. Murrer; four children, Jim (Linda) Murrer, Susan Henley, Joe (Mary) Murrer, and Patti (John) Brueggemann; ten grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at 10:00 AM at Epperson United Methodist Church with Rev. Roger B Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Mr. Murrer's memory to Community Hospice of NE Florida.
