Marjorie Eykamp, 98 of Lake Preston and a former Oldham, SD resident died Thursday, February 15, 2018 at The Neighborhoods in Brookings, SD.

Marjorie Knight was born near Oldham on her family farm on October 21, 1919 to Charles and Della (Dolan) Knight. She was the youngest of a family of 6 children. (Gladys, Audrey, Bud, Dorothy, Lyle and Marge) She was baptized at the Methodist Church in Oldham. She attended grade school at Spring Lake #5 and Oldham High School graduating in 1938. She was married to Linus Eykamp on February 5, 1947 by the Methodist minister in DeSmet at the Methodist Parsonage. She was a member of the Oldham Methodist Church. She belonged to the Oldham American Legion Auxiliary for 61 years, the Methodist Aide and after the Methodist church closed attended the Lutheran Circle.

Marge would like to be remembered as someone who loved to read and loved pets.

She is survived by one son, Jim (Jean) Eykamp of Oldham, SD, two daughters, Linda Watson of Brookings, SD and Pamela Libby of Madison, SD, one daughter-in-law, Susan Eykamp of Oldham, SD, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Marge is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son David, two brothers Lyle and Bud, three sisters, Gladys Dolan, Audrey Knight and Dorothy Collins, one grandchild Joshua Libby and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eykamp will be at 10:30 am on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Oldham Lutheran Church, Oldham SD with Vicar Jess Carson officiating, burial will be in the Oldham City Cemetery. Visitation will precede services in the church on Monday.
